Speech & Language Assessments Calgary

Communication shapes how we learn, connect, and express ourselves. Our speech and language assessments help identify strengths, challenges, and the right supports for children, teens, and adults.

How we can help

At Stride Psychology, we offer detailed Speech and Language Assessments designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of your child’s communication and language abilities. Our assessments examine how these language skills influence various aspects of their development, including communication and social, emotional, behavioral and academic functioning.

We bring our services to your home through tele-assessment so we can cater to all, including those outside of our service area.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do speech assessments cost?
A comprehensive speech and language assessment is $750. If you would like speech and language testing added to a psychoeducational assessment, the speech and language portion is an additional $750 on top of the standard psychoeducational assessment fee.
Assessments can identify a wide range of communication differences, including language delays, articulation difficulties, stuttering, social communication differences, and issues with processing or understanding spoken language. Whether the concern is mild or significant, an assessment provides clarity and direction to help guide the right support.
At Stride, we offer speech and language assessments for individuals ages 6 and up. For children and teens, an assessment can help identify communication needs that may be affecting learning, social development, or confidence. For adults, it can help clarify longstanding speech or language challenges that may have been misunderstood or overlooked for years.

A speech and language assessment focuses specifically on communication, while a psychoeducational assessment takes a broader look at learning, cognitive functioning, and social-emotional development.

When both communication and learning challenges are present, completing both assessments can help clarify how these areas are connected and what supports may be most helpful.

The written report from a speech and language assessment can be used to access school-based speech and language services, private therapy, funding supports, or accommodations in the classroom or workplace. It gives families, educators, and other providers a shared understanding of the individual’s communication profile and a clear roadmap for what to do next.
